After staying indoors much of winter, spring is the time to ground to the earth. Your root chakra, muladhara, is the energy center located at the base of the spine associated with feeling grounded, safe, and energized. Connecting with this chakra can enliven your awareness of your connection with the earth.
Another fantastic way to reconnect with the earth is with direct skin contact – also called “earthing.” So, take off your shoes outside or go swimming in a natural body of water.
Earthing and connecting with the earth have many benefits including better sleep, less fatigue, reduced inflammation, and stress reduction by resetting your nervous system.
Pair this meditation after this season’s Sadhana practice or try it on its own. If you’re still feeling disconnected and unrooted, consider hypnotherapy to let go of any blocks.
